Alaskan Animal Combo #1
Caribou Walking
This image was one of the first art pieces Erik drew in fall of 1997 when we discovered his incredible talent as an artist.
The Biggest Bear
Erik always loved drawing big bears. This one he said was eating.
Moose Looking
This is his mother’s favorite moose card. The moose is so cute while realistic and stylized at the same time.
Landing Gear Ready
The eagle has colors that Erik thought would look good. He drew this image early in his career as a professional when he was still attending Kenny Lake School from 1997-1999.
Two Under Water Fish
Fish is a staple in our diet and something Erik has grown up looking at. This is his image of a male (purple head) and smaller female salmon as they are on the way up river to spawn in summer.
All cards are produced in an off set lithography press on 10 point or 100 pound cover stock acid free paper and are given a UV coating on the front and back. This gives all front and back covers a high quality glossy coated finish but the perfect surface for writing notes or letters on the inside of each card.
Zoo Animals – Card # 3
The work in Combo #4 is a good illustration of how Erik’s work as an artist has changed over the years of his career from simplistic to more detailed to a more abstract form.
Looking For Mama (seal)
Erik watches the seals in Kachemak Bay as the tides are turning. They sit on the rocks in front of our house and bask year around when there are no winds. The babies like this one are always looking around as the larger ones are sleeping on the rocks. This is a very simple, innocent form of his early work.
Porkie (porcupine)
This adorable porcupine walked up the pussy willows blossoming right outside our window one day. Erik drew pictures of them at that time. It illustrates he is experimentation with multiple lines in his work for the first time.
A Big Brown Bear
Erik’s art changed form with many multiple lines in this piece or pictures he drew at earlier times but he still maintains the innocence and proportion of a bear.
The Old Moose
As Erik’s career advanced in years, he turned from the simpler lines of Combo #1 to double, triple and quad line images as seen in this moose. The feet have also lost their characteristics and his art in general slowly turned to a more abstract form.
A Sheep With Horns
This is an Erik version of a Dahl Sheep. This is an indication of his art transitioning into a more abstract form.

Alaska Animal – Combo #5 (2 cards of each image)
Caribou Travels
This caribou was created about 5 years into his professional career. He has all body parts, including the animals feet, and special details and yet it is still simplistic and whimsical.
Killer Whale 2
The Killer Whale was drawn while he was still at Kenny Lake School and the black line can be found in the Alaska Animal ABC Coloring Book by Erik.
Two Salmon Swimming
These salmon were drawn toward the end of his early period in 2002. He was just starting to experiment with abstract forms in his images.

Gathering the Tree
Dogs on the loose pulling the Christmas tree home. Somehow, they lost the musher, but they don’t care. They are on the run and free.

Dreaming of Santa
Santa, the sled and his reindeer are in need of more body parts in this dream. Still, the innocence and beauty of the piece prevails in Erik’s work.
Christmas Moose
Erik’s moose has Christmas lights stuck on his antlers. That isn’t enough to stop a moose from happily eating trees during the holiday season. Fortunately, they drop their antlers in spring and are finally free of the wires and lights after the holidays are over.

Mama And Baby Jesus
In 2010 Erik did paintings of Mother Mary and Baby Jesus and Moses, his favorite people in the Bible. It seemed perfect to add this image to this card combination.
